The following photos were taken of the herbs from my pharmacy in Denver. (We get our herbs from Nu Herbs Company in Oakland, CA).

The first name listed is the Chinese pin-yin name, with common variations given in parantheses and modifiers following the name. Next listed, in italix, is the species as listed in the Nu Herbs 2007-2008 Professional Catalog. This is followed by the common English name(s).

Multiple names and quality pictures are important for herb identification, as any given herb may be known by several names, Chinese, English, pharmaceutical, botanical, etc. and may look different depending on source, cut, grade, quality, etc.

If you would like to search for an herb by a name other than the Chinese pin-yin, go the Home Page and use the search box left side of your screen.
