Digestive problems can range from frequent gas and bloating, to regular fatigue after meals, to IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease). Symptoms may simply be daily annoyances or they may severely impair one's day to day life. In most cases, Chinese medicine can offer effective treatment with no side effects.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine can regulate symptoms, while the power of Chinese medical diagnostics can uncover root causes for lasting relief. For full effect, it is likely medical counseling will include dietary advice and suggestion for regulating one's mind and mood. Though these therapies require more time and effort on the part of the patient, they are often key to effecting a 'cure'. (For further discussion on Chinese medical modalities, please click here.

Chinese medicine is unique in that is has comprehensive (physical, cognitive, and emotional) diagnostic capabilities matched with a wealth of experience-based advice on healthy eating and lifestyle habits (please see Foundations of Health.)

If you suffer from gastrointestinal or digestive issues, consult a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) to see what they can do for you.
